Why I Decided to Become a Holistic ADHD Coach

Growing up with ADHD, I was prescribed stimulant medications that promised improved focus and performance. While they did offer some benefits, the side effects and long-term impacts drastically outweighed the positives. The jitteriness, sleep disturbances, and emotional blunting were just the beginning. Over time, I saw the cumulative harm these medications inflicted, and I knew there had to be a better way. This realization set me on a 17-year journey to discover holistic methods and interventions that prioritize long-term well-being. My goal was to become a Holistic ADHD Coach, dedicated to finding and promoting alternatives that enhance mental health without the detrimental side effects of stimulant medications.

Embracing Holistic Alternatives to Transform Lives

My focus has been on finding medication alternatives that enhance mental health without the detrimental side effects of stimulant medications. I have delved into psychology, herbs, exercise, meditation, and various innovative practices to create a comprehensive approach to managing ADHD. One of the most alarming discoveries in my research was the impact of long-term stimulant use on the brain, specifically the shrinking of the nucleus accumbens. This part of the brain is crucial for motivation and reward, and its reduction can significantly diminish long-term motivation. This finding is largely overlooked by the mainstream, and it underscored the urgency of finding and promoting holistic treatment options.

Becoming a Holistic ADHD Coach: A Journey of Compassion and Hope

My motivation as an ADHD coach is to wake people up to these holistic options and provide education on alternative methods that don’t rely on stimulants as the first line of treatment. I aim to help parents and teens understand the full spectrum of available interventions and how they can be integrated into daily life for better long-term outcomes. Throughout my journey, I have been my own guinea pig, testing various approaches to see what truly works. This personal experimentation has given me a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge that I now share with others. I am passionate about advising and recommending strategies that have proven effective over the long term, including getting off amphetamines naturally, helping my clients achieve optimal mental health and well-being.
